This is....the second to last art trade?
This character belongs to Mavrickindigo, who, for their half of the trade, wrote me a short story. It hasn't been posted publicly yet, but I think they plan to post it so when they do, I'll share it with you guys because the story is really good.
His pose is not quite as dynamic as my other fullbody trades so far, but that was kind of intentional. He didn't strike me as a particularly flamboyant or dramatic kind of character. I was actually originally going to make him look even more stoic by making the picture symmetrical and having his arms cross. However, considering he's described as having a slightly feminine build, I thought it would funny to give him what I tend to consider a "bossy woman" pose.
What was really interesting about this picture is that I was working mostly off of a text description that gave me a lot of artistic freedom in regards to his outfit. I was told that he didn't have a solid outfit, and that it would be based off of the fashions of wherever snow leopards live. I did a little bit of research into Tibetan fashion to come up with his clothing. Because he's got a lot of fur, I made the covering a little sparse because a fur covered animal wouldn't need a lot of fabric to cover them.
Anyways, it looks like I'm rambling, but I've got one last thing; some of you will like this, I promise; next Friday or Saturday, The Misfit Hunters will be back. I've completed the script for chapter one (and boy is it a long chapter now) AND I've finished a couple of pages except for the watercolor shading, which I skipping for now in favor of sketching and inking more pages. Unless I'm doing a full-color page, the watercolors literally take me about 15 minutes, so I'm not going to worry about it until it's closer to the page's upload day. I'm also doing concept art that makes Lisa look kind of scary, I need to paint a clay bobcat, and eventually I'm going to start painting my mom's boss' cats.
